4 Reality Shows That I’m Glad I Wasted My Life On

During this past year, I’ve found myself watching more TV. A LOT more. SO MUCH MORE that I now keep a pair of blue-light-blocking glasses next to the couch. Here are just some of the reality shows I now have an unhealthy addiction to.

1. Blown Away

A show about glass blowing sounds boring at best, but I promise, this show is as hot as the ovens the beautiful orbs are being baked in. Combine amazing glass sculptures with wacky artists and some questionable glass blowing terms (”glory hole,” anyone?!) and you’ve got this delightful Netflix treat.

2. The Great Pottery Throw Down

Here’s what you get: cheeky British humor, a famous potter host who can’t stop crying, and some of the coolest sculptures you’ve ever seen. Check out the homemade toilet episode for waterworks in more than one way.

3. Love is Blind

In this show, people date and commit to each other having never seen their partner’s face. Not only was this show about isolation pods LONG BEFORE quarantine was a thing, but this dating experiment actually worked. For some. This show had its heydey early in quar, but if you missed it, now is as good a time as any to see who’s sexy voice scooped many suitors and who actually made it down the aisle.

4. Labor of Love

The premise: A dating show that follows a woman in her forties to find her partner. But more specifically, the perfect dad for her not yet conceived child. I’ll be honest: it’s twisted. In the first episode, host Kristen Davis (yes, Kristen Davis of Sex and The City) had the men “produce” in a cup to check their sperm count, and I almost fainted. Then I proceeded to watch the rest of the series in 3 days. Brain cells were lost, hilarity was found.

All of these shows are filled with kooky characters and some wild imagination, two things I’ve needed a big dose of this past year. Now excuse me, I’ve got to go, I heard there’s a new show about parking tickets…seriously…
